LOL! She is such a lover of life. Those are Wendi’s legs she is laying between. Wendi is a founder of another retirement home in FL, for Sr. Bassets called, Senior Hounds Abound. As you will recall, Chaps is in the running to be on their 2010 calendar which is their biggest fundraiser of the year. Hey, that just reminded me, let me go look and see how he is doing…..

Well, well, well, the Mayor has a respectable 78 votes!

Anyway, Wendi was in Maryland over the weekend and stopped by House of Puddles. Buttermilk really took a shine to Wendi and they became BFF!

Then Wendi did the same manauver that I did a few days ago trying to capture that low to the ground hound picture!

Buttermilk was wondering what the heck was going on? Look how concerned she looks! hehe

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Chaps on the cover of the Yellow Pages lovers! OK, let’s bring it out in the open. The Yellow Pages signifies the Yellow Puddles at the House of Puddles! It is just to obvious to deny! LOL!

So, who would not want a copy of this coffee table book? Every time you look at it you will contemplate the elders squatting away at HOP and who would not want to do that! OK – I am getting a bit carried away.

I just thought that some of us would want a copy. So I got on the horn and this package arrived today. I was not able to get what I wanted. I wanted 200 copies! The person in charge told me I was crazy. OK, tell me something I don’t know!

Do you want a copy? I think for right now I have about 30 of them. If you want a copy of the Northern, KY Yellow pages (very soon to be a collectors addition) you can PayPal me 7.00. Howlllo Fellow Basset Hound and Laverne Lovers. Well, one of the many greats passed away in her sleep today at House of Puddles. Laverne was a fine old lady who brought so many of us joy. We all loved hearing Marilyn’s stories of her though out the years. She was actually a favorite of my nephew, Julian. He loves drawing and he picked Laverne as a special project after she went blind, like Emma. We packed up all of Emma’s eye medicine after we heard that Laverne was suffering from glaucoma and sent it to House of Puddles.

Here is the finished product we sent. Julian and I went out and picked out this frame that looked so lady like.

Here is a close up just of Julian’s drawing…..I just love how he used gray pencils to showcase the gray hair on her face. Just priceless!

Both Julian, (my nephew) and I know how hard it is for a hound to go blind. They stumble and fall but if they are lucky, they have humans like Marilyn to pick them up. I know there are many of you like that on this site. I know Julian and I are 2 of them.

DOG AND GOD SPEED LAVERNE……ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS AND SOUL….

HOWLLO FELLOW BASSET HOUND AND YELLOW PAGES LOVERS! We have been waiting and waiting for this proud moment since Chaps was announced as the winner in the companion photo contest for the cover of the Yellow Pages. He could not have won without the residents of basset hound town and their daily votes to support his cause of donating the
1000 dollar prize money to House of Puddles.

So, here it is dear residents!

I am just beyond excited. I am in the process of getting as many copies as I can get my paws on.

OK – this is really cool. When you open the book this is the first page!

The small print is all about the Yellow Pages. I am so excited to get out there and market this. I am going to network this beyond belief. I am so excited. Oh, I already said that! LOL

The pug is the winner of the Hamilton County (Cincinnati) contest. She will be on the cover of that Yellow Pages. Chaps will be in the “runner up” position for that book. Chaps received the most votes over all! Again, thank you to all of the residents who voted for him. I cannot wait to get out in Northern KY and network this. I am going to call of the local TV stations, newspapers, and all regional media. Chaps is really ready for his multiple close ups. Just look at him admiring his cute self!~

We drove down to the public library today to sign their book. They had not received it yet so we are going back to do it with hopefully a hoopla! I will call the local media.

I think Chaps and I are going to be really busy coming up. Emma will come along as well. The spot light will love her!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and THE TODAY SHOW Lovers………

NOTHING IS CONFIRMED YET, but I received a phone call today about Chaps availability and interest level to appear in New York City for the morning shows (including THE TODAY SHOW) in very short order.

Why you ask? Well, it seems that the company who did the contest for the Yellow Pages is doing some big time marketing and how better to market than to have the winning dogs on the morning shows? The girl I talked to said that she had little to no info. She was just told to see if we were willing participants. All expenses would be paid of course!

Can you imagine Chaps plugging House of Puddles, talking about giving his winnings to the elders? Hopefully, he is not too sleepy! He would not have been able to donate all of this doe had it not been for all of his loyal residents voting for him day in and day out. Chaps actually receive more votes than the winner of the Cincinnati addition. YES!

It is all very sketchy. It may never happen or it could happen next week or several weeks there after. I had to share the news. Maybe the power of drool and good thoughts will make it happen?????

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I know is that I told the girl I would drive Chaps to New York City at the drop of a hat.

My head is spinning. How cool would that be? It may all just be a dream but I bet I don’t get much sleep, not to mention dreams tonight!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Corvette Lovers: Every year Guardian Angel Basset Hound Rescue raffles off a corvette! This year it is a 1960 Corvette Roadster!

What a beauty! Could you see the Mayor riding around in this machine? Emma would be by his side. It would be toooooo cute!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Reality show lovers. Come on, some of us watch them and some of us love to hate them. But here is an idea that I think would entertain the masses….A HOP reality show! Wouldn’t that be fun? OK, probably not going to happen, but if it did what would be a good name? This is a contest! The name winner will be picked by my Mom at 9:00 tonight.
