Happy birthday to me! From my backyard, part 1 of 3
Howllo Fellow Hound and birthday lovers! Today I am 51 and it is also Father’s day, so happy Father’s day to all of you Dads out in cyberspace.
Well, today started like most other days. Hungry Hounds and wads of shedding hair blowing down the hall! Then I looked out the window and saw this.
Just at that moment the phone rang and it was Grandma. “Cat, grab your camera and look at the back window. Hurry quick.” Click. I was on the job! Mommy struggles and almost breaks her neck grabbing the camera.
One ray of sunlight shines on a perfect girl for my birthday. Ah, life is good! Dare I try to zoom in? Did I capture my perfect moment in time? This moment is lasting a bit longer. It is a birthday present. Thank you back yard!
This is a spot light on dignity and grace. Even if you cannot see, you can find the sweet spot! Please let me tell you all something. Moments like this are extra special when your hound is blind. Knowing that they are enjoying life in their own back yard. Yes, I zoomed again. I need a breath.
Emma was done, but the moment will live on forever in my mind. What a wonderful birthday present from my back yard. Emma was off on another adventure as she made her way over to the gate to bark at a neighbor hood dog, breaking the silence of the special Sunday morning moment. Normally, I would have asked her to hush, but not this morning. It’s my birthday after all and “hey hey” she has something to say!
There goes my little shadow, into the shadow. I love her tail shadow! I hope you all enjoyed one of my birthday presents from my back yard. This is shaping up as the best birthday ever!
Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. Stay tuned for parts 2 and 3!
