November 7th, 2009 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and fun photo lovers! I was looking through old photos. Not in my old photo piles but on my hard drive. I forgot about this one!

The Mayor is tired!

Chapsonpillow

I really cannot even remember this picture being taken. I think it was right after we got home from TX with our Chaps. Oh how I hovered……

Still do!

It’s the weekend! YEAH! I have to work all weekend! BOO!

November 6th, 2009 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Weekend Lovers! Good for you! LOL….

I have to work all weekend and I am none to thrilled. So be it. Anyway, I am trying to get jazzed about one of my jobs……….

IMG_4364

Raking the leaves, with the help of Emmas, of course, and…….

Putting away and covering the outdoor furniture………..

IMG_4362

Plus pulling all of the dead flowers which bit the dust with a hard frost the other night…..

Chaps will be a big help as well……

IMG_4354

If you look at his tail closely you can see where it still looks shaved from when he had that cyst removed. I wonder if it will ever grow back? Some of his cute little tail hairs came in, but not many! I fear he will never be a tail model!

So, I am trying to psych myself up for the tasks at hand and paw.

More grabbing rakes and leaf bags later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

LOST GERMAN SHEPHERD DOG (Grandview Heights X Upper Arlington area of) COLUMBUS OH

LARGE REWARD!

Rosie escaped this morning 11-5-09 from her pet sitters fenced backyard. She actually managed to unlatch the gate and presumably is headed for home. Her owner is one of my best friends and was scheduled to go out of town today hence the need for a pet sitter.

Rosie is an adult, female, German Shepherd with a very black colored face. AC saw her at North Star and Northwest Blvd. at 10:00 AM this morning but couldn’t catch her. If you find her or think you’ve seen her please call 614-297-8380 or 614-787-1405. She is normally a friendly dog but was very scared when she was last sighted and took off running. Please let us know if you see her.

Rosie was wearing a pink gingham collar, she has all her tags on.

Please help me spread the word to anyone you know who lives in the Columbus area. Share this message on Facebook and retweet on Twitter.

We are worried sick for Rosie’s safety.

Thank you for any help!

14K Teddy Bear Charm

November 5th, 2009 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and 14K Teddy Bear Charm Lovers! Today I learned that the price of gold was really high. So, I took some of the scrap gold I was holding to my jewelry store. I did this for the Gold Rush that is still going on for House of Puddles.

This charm is Hollow.

I cashed in some chains at a higher dollar! I added this to Devon and my Firstgiving page!

So, I was wondering if I should cash in some other gold. Like this charm that has been sitting in the HOP boutique for about a year.

Here is the link to look at it if you want

14K TEDDY BEAR CHARM!

Remember, it is hollow….

Well, since gold was so high I took it to see what it was worth scrapped. Get this, it was only worth 23.00 dollars. That really made me mad.

So, I could not BEAR to scrap it.

IMG_4350

Again, the jewelry store thought that this was worth 95.00 dollars.

100% goes to House of Puddles.

If you do not like this charm, do you know someone who would? Please send this blog posting to your friends. Or send it to Facebook or Twitter!

I want basset hound folks to see it again before I send it to ebay.

The Horse with a Bell……

November 5th, 2009 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and leading the way lovers….

Basset hound town resident Audra, who is the Mom of Chaps son, sent me this wonderful short story. It reminded her of Chaps and Emma. It brought a catch to my throat. I found it so very touching and true. It is called:

THE HORSE WITH A BELL…

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it.

From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing….

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing.

If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell.

Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field. Attached to the horse’s halter is a small bell.. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two friends, you’ll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn’t too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.

Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives.

Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way….

Howl glad Chaps is for Emma as well. I can tell he has such purpose showing her the way.

More bells later…….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Bailey, Clancy and Richard wait at the dining room table!

November 5th, 2009 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and waiting for dinner lovers! This is a picture of Bailey, Clancy and Richard waiting at their “dining room table”! I had to laugh. Howl cute are they?

These are Chaps’ son’s cousins. I think. Audra, would they be considered cousins? Anyway, Audra, Mom of Colby Chaps was feeding her Mom and Dad’s Hounds…..

Just look at them waiting for din, din! I just love this picture!

RichardBailyClancy

Richard is in the back, Clancy is on the left and Bailey on the right. The sheet is the dining room! Gotta love hounds waiting for dinner!

More from family later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma…..

I fell behind….Big Time!

November 5th, 2009 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and falling back lovers! I totally missed blogging yesterday and it got under my skin! I had so much work to do yesterday! YAWN!

Who wants to hear about that? NO ONE! Everyone has lots of work. Except for Chaps and Emma! OK, that’s not fair. The Mayor and Emma do their part!

They wait in the kitchen for their Mom to drop tid bits. I was in the kitchen tonight paying some bills (YAWN) and I looked down and saw this.

Ever the hopeful duo!

IMG_7893

They know if they look this cute a treat is coming. Howl can 2 hounds continually look so cute?

The smiles that come from my face travel to my camera right onto the internet. Keep in mind I was paying bills. This is how you can smile and pay bills!

Ahhhhhh……Technology!

More smiling later…..

Howl is everyone doing, falling back?

November 3rd, 2009 - 2:02 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and falling back lovers….

The kids seem to be falling back nicely. I was surprised because Emma has a body clock like you would not believe. At 3:29pm she starts whining for her 3:30pm dinner. It always amazes me! Our Emma! She was so cute this morning. I was in my office working and I had to put something in the mail box. I walked past Emma taking her morning nap and saw that I had forgot to put her cuddle blanket on her. She is so cold natured.

IMG_4313

Can you believe that she got herself under that pillow! Silly baby girl!

IMG_4314

I had to show you a close up. So, I went and got her cuddle blankee…

IMG_4315

“Thank you Mommy, I think I will fall back asleep now!” Then, all was right in the world no matter what time it was…..

More falling back later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Dog gone it!

November 3rd, 2009 - 10:10 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Mutt Madness Lovers:(

img_3812-copyb

Well, I guess you can tell from the sad face that House of Puddle did not make it to the next round of Rachel Ray’s Mutt Madness. Dog gone it!

A rescue by the name of Last Chance Ranch beat us out.

We all gave it a very good effort. At least Marilyn was picked out of a large amount of rescues trying to get in to the contest. That stands for a lot! Plus, she won 2,000 dollars and that is nothing to sneeze or slobber at!

Better luck next time…..

More contests later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
