Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Judge Judy Lovers…I am a huge fan of Judge Judy.  She is so smart and no nonsense.  She also seems to love the cases that involve animals.  Judge Judy regularly hears cases that involve pit bulls and the extreme damage they do to other dogs and humans. She points out valuable information about the breed and the dangers that pit bulls present in our communities.  The first part of this video is about another pit bull case.  It lasts 10 minutes and 8 seconds.

This is 4 year old Daisy who the rescue case is about.

Wow, what a show!  I was so glad that I caught it when it aired a few weeks ago and was waiting for it to come online so I could share it with the bassethoundtown residents.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Facebook find of the day lovers…I was over on facebook sniffing around today and ran across this pack of serious houndage!

Howl much fun would it be to see this pack a comin’ round the bend?  I am not sure where they are from but I know where they are going…(probably after a treat;)

Daisy Lynn and I also made a new facebook friend!  Brutus from WI!

We though himz very, very handsome!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and our favorite part of Downton Abbey Lovers…

Isis – the yellow lab…

Daisy Lynn and I were looking forward to tonight’s episode so we decided to have a spot of tea in Isis’ honor!

As you can see we both have on our finery…

Daisy Lynn is wearing a heavily encrusted gown hand sewn with iridescent sequins and pearl like embellishments.  The draping accents her beautiful frame.

“Mama, what time does Dogton Abbey come on?”

“I heard that ladies have their paw kissed by handsome boy hounds!”

Gotta love high tea with a high hound!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and 2 years ago tonight lovers…I just cannot believe that Mayor Daisy Lynn Rudert has been in our hearts now for 2 years.  I think every emotion plus some I have never heard of happened that day and night.

Wonder howl many she has had in 2 years?  My guess would be 365×2=730×10 belly rubs a day (on average) = 7,300 belly rubs!!!

Wow!  That is amazing…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and 2 Little Heaters Lovers…

Here are my 2 Little Heaters…

Thank goodness I have both tonight!  My furnace died!

I bought the heater on the left a few years ago just in case of emergencies such as this.  I bought the little heater on the right 2 years ago tonight.  Well, actually I just bought her airline ticket and flight kennel!

Who knew she would come in so handy;)

We read the directions together…

Daisy Lynn decided that we did not need to keep them…

So, I am sporting my yellow CHAPS hoodie for this selfie.  Yes, I have a disco ball in my bathroom!  Also, please notice the IPhone cover my sister bought me for Christmas…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Cuddle Time Lovers…

On a cold day like this one all you want to do is cuddle up with a friend!

Enzo is so cute.  Romeo was not havin’ any of it.  He like the cool spot in front of the window…in the worry bed.  See the snake toy?  Daisy Lynn tired to cheer him up with one of her fav toys.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and I Love You Lovers…Wow!  I really want to teach Daisy Lynn to talk.  Grandma and I give her lessons everyday!

What a smart hound!  I love Joey as well!  I have always liked the name Joey for a boy.  I think it is so cute!

Howllo Fellow Basset and Hearty Alaskan Hound Lovers…Well, I am sure it is only normal that  your climate would have an impact on your heartiness or maybe it is just in a hound’s nature!  It sure looks like this is one adventurous snow loving hound!

Get Out: Manitoba Cabin

ANCHORAGE – Alaska is a huge state and it can be difficult to explore a lot of it with our limited road system. However, there are lots of cabins around the state that can make a trip into the backcountry easier and more comfortable.This past weekend I traveled south with my basset hound Einstein and photographer Andy to the Kenai Peninsula in search of something uniquely Alaskan.

We pulled off the Seward Highway near Summit Lake, geared up and snowshoed into the woods. Our destination: Manitoba cabin. It’s a renovated miners cabin built in 1936 that has been open to the public for about 2 years now.

The cabin serves as a camp for a lot of outdoor activities. It sits at the base of Manitoba Mountain, which is a popular spot in the winter for backcountry skiers.

“Nice easy slopes. Good for people that aren’t looking to kill it, just looking to get out and have a good time,”

“Magical. One-hundred percent magical,” when we got out here the other day I was just like, ‘Man, this is why I live in Alaska.’ It’s places like this that make this special.”

Whether it’s you, a basset hound and a sled, or a big group, it’s sure to be quite the adventure.

He sure seems to have a heck of a time with his human.
