Hellow Fellow Basset Hound and needing an update on TJ’s move from Stanford to Ashland to catch his ride (for 50 bucks) to NJ lovers! Wow, that was a mouth full indeed!

OK, I just got this e-mail from Kristie, TJ’s foster Mommy:

I have 2 dogs that need to get to Deb Hinkle’s transport this Friday(July 16th) in Ashland. They will be leaving from Stanford, but I also have dogs that are going to Lexington this evening, and towards Louisville, so I can meet someone with them if need be. Thanks! Hillery

I am Sylvia with the Mercer Humane Society. We did receive your message and your dogs may ride with us tonight if you are able to bring them to Harrodsburg. I will check on the correct time that our driver will be leaving but I am thinking they will need to be here about 5:30.

What are their sizes? Please reply to all when responding and we look forward to hearing from you.

Oh, BLESS you!! Thanks so much. I will indeed get them to you in Harrodsburg. When and where? My cell is 606-669-7194. I have a Basset Hound named TJ, about 45lbs., and a Lab mix adolescent named Marty; he is about 25lbs., maybe a bit less.

His bags are packed and he’s ready to go! He is actually waiting at the door! He will be sad to leave his great and benevolent foster Mommy but he will be making room for another homeless victim at the wonderful Foster Mom Kristie’s home!

Our boy gets to start an entire new life with someone who wants him. His foster Mommy said that she is going to miss him dearly. He was her little glue stick and just loved to be by her side. Thank you foster people.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and wanna see TJ’s run sheet lovers? I don’t know why I cry but I do. I just got this e-mail with TJ’s run sheet and reading it just makes me cry. Look at all of those dogs traveling from KY to the North. It is just so inspiring.

Here is the run sheet and TJ is on it! Woot Woot!!

Transport July 17th . YAHOO….I am ready to roll thanks to all of you !!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help these dogs along. Several passengers so you may need to tether more than crate. The legs are pretty short so hopefully everyone is okay. Please bring leashes for tethering!!!

Please bring water and a dish to offer water at each transfer point. Ice cubes work well in bowls for crated dogs. Leashes are always an added plus as the bigger dogs can be tethered..

Please Don’t forget the paperwork.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and reviewing the bills lovers! Mostly, no one likes to review the bills but TJ’s bills are very impressive. Around here, I have not been able to find a vet that has this type of pricing. I will make it my mission to find one. I love being able to take the homeless to my vet. I wish he had a rescue price listing but if he is like everyone else, times are not that great for small business. I certainly understand that.

I also paid 50.00 to the woman that is going to transport TJ from Ashland, KY to Mid-Atlantic in Phillipsburg, NJ where Suzanne Fitch of Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue is going to pick him up. Get this! Suzanne already has a home for our boy, that is if you likes cats! The home is superior and is so hoping that TJ likes cats. We are still trying to figure that one out. TJ’s foster Mommy does not have cats. So, she is trying to answer this important question this week.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and TJ lovers! Well, himz has been getting all kind of glowing reviews from his foster Mom Kristie! Himz is sleeping in the bed and bossing all of her dogs around like the true hound he is!

OK, here is our pupdate. TJ has a ride all the way to NJ this coming Friday. The transport leaves from Ashland, KY at about 8:00pm. A woman named Deb does this transport every other Friday night and drives straight through. She stops in Hagerstown, MD; Carlisle, PA; Mechanicburg, PA; and Phillipsburg, NJ. Phillipsburg, NJ is about 10 miles from the delicious and wonderful Suzanne Fitch of Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue, which is where our very own TJ is going! Suzanne is going to be the wonder woman picking himz up! Lucky Herz!

Get this! TJ’s transport only cost us 50.00 dollars! I paypaled Deb a few nights ago and he has his reservation firmly in place! This was in our BHT fund! I will provide details of the account very soon!

Kristie and I are still working on getting himz over to Ashland, KY from Stanford, KY but we are going to do that come hell or high water!

Unfortunately, still no pictures of our newest, soon to be, not homeless resident! DANG!

Kristie has no internet access and lives in a tiny, tiny town called Texas, KY! Bless her heart! Love you Kristie! I am sure we will be chatting on the phone soon. Kristie said that he has the longest body and about 10″ long ears! Jethro, look out! hehehehe

Good News Abounds for TJ the HOUND! All of the residents will be jumping for joy!

Suzanne Fitch of Mid-Atlantic has taken TJ into her rescue! We must find a way to get him up to her in NJ and we are working on the transport as I type. I have been working on TJ’s behalf most of the day off and on along with Kristie, the foster Mommy!

TJ had his neuter surgery and is doing great. He is even doing a little bit of singing for the staff! So here is the good news!

TJ is heart worm negative!

TJ is lyme disease negative!

TJ had a negative fecal test!

TJ get’s picked up by his Foster Mommy in the Morning!

TJ found a place at the top notch Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue!

TJ hopes to be on a transport this weekend!

TJ says, “Ahrooooooooooo and Thank You!”

Tomorrow himz is getting snip, sniped! I am having some control issues knowing that he is so far away. I normally have our homeless a lot closer. Normally, I am going back and forth non stop down to my vet. Butt….with TJ, I really don’t know anything.

I guess, I am a bit worried. I know he has good care about 3 hours due south of me. I just want more! I want more.

I guess it will come later…..

We need to start finding this guy a home! I wish I had my normal pictures. You know this is killing me! I know this is killing all of us. I know he is safe but I just am just worried. I normally get to touch and love on our homeless:(

Well, the Mayor, Emma and I had to make an executive decision today to use the money in our bassethoundtownrescue account for a basset hound in Standford, KY that was to be euthanized today.

It all came about very quickly. About 30 e-mails were going back and forth between about 5 people over the past 24 hours. They were calling him Randy but I felt that he should be given a name fitting of his independence on this 4th of July weekend.

Please meet Thomas Jefferson aka TJ. As you can see, he is howling,
“THANK YOU BASSET HOUND TOWN RESIDENTS!”

A gal named Kristie Jones offered to pull him, foster him, and get him vetted at a very affordable vet who offers fantastic pricing. I met Kristie when we were all working with Frankie.

“Cat, TJ is a WONDERFUL choice!!! I will forward you a copy of the vetting services available at cost..TJ BARELY made it out, Cat..”

Now we just need to find him a soft place to land.

This is all happening as I type. I think TJ is with Kristie now but her computer is not working!

I have asked for more pictures and a full report of Mr. Firecracker!

For now we only have these two.

I am adding this header to a new category (street) in our town! This is where I am going house all of the homeless bassets that our residents rescue and their stories.

I am also trying to figure out a tally page. I want to show what we have in our neighborhood basset hound town bank account. I think I might have my website guy link to a page right under the header. I will have to think about howl to do that the best. Every donation will be recorded on that page and howl to donate. Since I am not a 501(c)3 I cannot start a FirstGiving Page but I do have a paypal account.
