Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and tribute bench lovers. As many of the residents know I purchased a bench in honor of Chloe & Lily back in 2005. I love visiting the bench and I also love seeing all the kids from Highlands High School sitting on it. I know Chloe and Lily get a big kick out of that. Well look at it now! LOL
The High School is under yet another major construction project!
The bassethoundtown bench is smack dab in the middle of this one!
Kind of exciting to be a part of the award winning High School landscape.
It’s a nice place to watch the world go by…
Oh the stories that bench could tell…
More loving our bench later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB sitting under a rainbow bench…)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Lounging Lovers…Over the weekend Daisy Lynn, Grandma, and I worked really hard in our backyard garden. It is looking so good and I cannot wait to share more pics in the near future.
This pic is so cute because you can see the Mayor’s little curls on her rump roast area.
She just adores being with us as we decide what flowers to plant where. What a joy she is.
She used those bags of top soil to climb onto the lounge chair! OMDog – we were really cracking up!!!
She laid there until we got thirsty. I said “come on Daisy Lynn, lets go get some water”…
And we all hydrated!
So much fun to have Spring back in bassethoundtown. They say to wait until after Mother’s day to plant but we jumped the gun and got in our stuff early. We have pumped up on the volume on our veggies this year as you know. Some of the stuff is sprouting!
More loving lounging and sprouting later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB lounging on rainbows…)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Walking Club Lovers! Yes, it is that time of the year when we dust off the paws and meet for our Spring basset hound get together!
Please click the image and print so you can hang on your refrigerator and whip your hounds into a frenzy! LOL
Come one come all hounds and be with your own kind! We might even see a wabbit! Look out wabbits here we come!
More loving the Walking Club later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB walking over the rainbow with all the dearly departed…)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Sunday lovers. This is why I sleep with my phone within reach. This is what I saw when I opened my eyes…
Is that pretty or what?
We had a big day ahead of us…
Lots of gardening to do! Here is Daisy Lynn scouting out a patch of dirt…
We picked out some Non GMO organic seeds to see if we can have a little farm in bassethoundtown…
Daisy Lynn wants to know if we can grow treats???
Hopefully, our efforts will not be treats for wabbits…
The Mayor will be a big help – if you recall she is a guard doggie!
More loving Sundays later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB growing rainbow cheese plants;)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Mole/Vole Patrol Lovers…I just feel better knowing that the Mayor is chasing off those dastardly creatures! Actually, we never see them but this one got caught under the lawn furniture covers and Daisy Lynn heard it scampering. She was ENTHRALLED!
After I shooed the darn thing under the gate Daisy Lynn stood guard for what seemed hours! Wow! Talk about a dog on a bone!!!
Then horrors of horrors I made her try on “A star is born snood” to get an idea of the size. She was madder than a wet chicken!
This is no way to treat a hunter and guard hound!
Poor Daisy Lynn…Mamma makes her act like a model sometimes…
More Mole/Vole Patrol later for my little star…Love, Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB where the moles must be somewhere else because they never see them???Sup with that???;)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and new resident lovers. It is my pleasure and my honor to announce Bassethoundtown’s newest resident. Her name is Bindi Mead and she is following in the precious paw steps of Colby Chaps and Abby Mead.
She certainly is a show stopper and now firmly entrenched in the hearts and minds of the Mead Family and a special girl for us here in Bassethoundtown, main headquarters…
You see, Bindi Mead comes from the same kennel as Daisy Lynn came from!
Bindi has different parents but Daisy Lynn is still her cousin 4 times removed on her great grand dads side! LOL – just kidding… I am not sure howl they are related but we are still calling ourselves cousins!
Just look at these ears and that massive smart bump! This girl is going places for sure!
“Now I think I will eat some TX blue bonnets…”
“Yummy”…
“Well, I better get home so Mommy can put me down for my afternoon nap…Nice to meet all of the residents, pleased I’m sure…”
“I guess you will be hearing from me a lot…I have some big paw steps to fill but for now I need my nap!”…
More loving Bindi updates later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB with Colby Chaps and Abby approving of the new addition…)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and land of cheese lovers…Wow, if you like cable news there is blanket coverage of this WI primary.
The Mayor is very interested…
She keeps hearing the word, “Cheese” over and over again!
Daisy Lynn is voting for Cheese Curds…
More loving all things Cheese later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB eating Havarti!;)
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and information lovers…Well, it has been a giant hassle. I got Mango Mouth and it is getting better but has lasted about 2 weeks. A quick google search says it can last up to a month!!! Oh NO…
Have you ever heard of it? Mango Mouth…
The mango allergy reaction can start within 10 minutes after ingestion. The reasons behind this allergy are due to a poisonous chemical named urushiol. This chemical is found in the rind of mangoes. So if by any reason, you come in contact with the mango peel then you are going to suffer from this allergy. The chemical is responsible for ivy rash too. So, a person allergic to ivy or oak poison should be allergic to mangoes as well. This chemical is found in larger amount among green mangoes and less in ripe one. The botanical family of mango is similar to some other fruits such as pistachio, cashew etc. The potential allergens in mangoes are found in fruits like pear, apple, carrot, paprika, peanut. Thus due to cross sensitivity issue, one can have similar symptoms either by handling or eating those fruits.
I just thought I would share this information because I have never eaten a mango in my life so howl would I know? I am allergic to poison ivy but who would have never thought that mango allergies would be related??? I don’t even walk near them in the grocery store. I actually give them the evil eye and move to the other side of the produce section.
I hate Mangos more than my swollen lips can even tell you…
Thank goodness for google…
More loving the more you know later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (who hates mangos also), (Chaps and Emma ATB where there are no mangos…)
PS – I didn’t want to scare any of the residents so no pics…:(
Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and Easter 2016 Lovers…Do you guys remember Edwardo? Our fun and silly salamander? Well, this guy looks a little to little to be Edwardo but we think it is his son or grand daughter???
I had just finished brushing Daisy Lynn’s teeth and I was petting her and telling her about our schedule for Easter day and little Edwardo jumped up on that sill and was so cute looking right at us! Just darling. Then baby just laid on her/his stoop like Daisy Lynn lays on her. What an Easter joy…
First off we caught a few rays on the back porch…
Just look at those little sweet neck bags. They make me melt!
Then we proceeded to Ault Park in Cincinnati to view the Cherry Blossom trees. We decided that we are going to do this every Easter. What a great tradition. Ault Park has acres of Cherry Trees. It really is an amazing experience.
What a great picture and a great day.
More loving Edwardo, Easter, and Eggs later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB where there are rainbow salamanders…)
