Youtube find of the day…

May 28th, 2014 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Youtube find of the day lovers…OK, admit it.  Bassets running in slow motion never gets old.  I have to search my own blog to see if I had ever posted this before, but I had not!  Pretty unbelievable for me.  hehehe

Navi the Basset Hound Running In Slow Motion

I wonder if I can capture Daisy Lynn running like this?  It might not be as good because she is not that flabby!  hehehe

More flabby love later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB wondering if I thought they were flabby???;)

Memorial Day in bassethoundtown spent in quite reflection…

May 26th, 2014 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Memorial Day Lovers…Grandma, Daisy Lynn and I decided to have a picnic at our favorite spot and spend some time in quite reflection.  It was the perfect day to do so.

DLMD1

We adore this park, (Devou in Covington, KY).  We also have a favorite picnic table and it was available as you can see.  I made Turkey Rubens and potato salad.

After our long, leisurely lunch we sauntered down to the wars memorial.  Many folks strolled past and smiled at Daisy Lynn…

DLMD2

At the base of the memorial all of the wars are remembered with granite stones.  Very touching.

The American Flag flew high and proud!

DLMD3

We made it back to our table area and sat for awhile under the huge shade tree.  Grandma read a question on Twitter, “do you know how many are buried at Arlington?”  I had no idea…

DLMD5

Over 300,000…

More quite reflection later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB with our vet, Grandpa…)

What a lovely spring Sunday…

May 25th, 2014 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Lovely Spring Sunday Lovers…This weekend has been absolutely picture perfect.  Grandma, Daisy Lynn and I planted our flowers.  Is it just me, or are flowers getting more vibrant?

DLFP2

I took this picture and did absolutely nothing to it.  Wow…

We spend about 5 hours getting our pots planted in the back and we still have more to do in the front!!!

Daisy Lynn was a big help!  She had so much fun outside with us.  It was really cute!

DLFP1

Then it was time for us to get her down for her afternoon nap.

DLFP3

I hung up her screen door, turned her fan on and set the radio to soft spa music.  She was out for a few hours.

More loving lovely spring Sundays later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB informing me that the flowers are even more vibrant over the rainbow;)

Let’s do some Polka Dancing with Puppies;)

I Voted Today! (For myself, Love Mayor Daisy Lynn Rudert;)

May 20th, 2014 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Voting Lovers…Today Mayor Daisy Lynn Rudert ran unopposed in her primary election for Mayor of Bassethoundtown.

Here she is speaking to her constituents before casting her vote for herself…

“Dear Fellow Town Hounds.  I assumed the position of Mayor after the passing of the late Mayor Chaps Wayne Rudert.  Being a very young Mayor I have had so much to learn.  One thing I  have learned is that I love my family, my residents, and my job…”

DLV3

“So, I made haste down to my precinct and cast my vote for myself’.  I promise to get better at the business of our town.  I feel it is time for a woman to take over and I will do my best to keep up the great work of Mayor Chaps.”

“Here I am showing off my I VOTED STICKER!”

DLV2

“I will detail (and climb on) my platform as we draw nearer to the November elections…”

DLV4

“My job is is never done! A couch for every homeless basset and endless treats to boot!”

DLV5

“I will be busy dreaming up more platform issues as the days draw nearer to November!”

DLV1

More loving “I voted” later…Cat, Mayor Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB casting their rainbow votes!”

Devou Park and the wild Daisies;)

May 18th, 2014 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Wild Daisy Lovers…We went to Devou Park today!  A park that we adore and visit often in Covington, KY.  We tend to go to this park in the heat of the summer because for some reason it always seems cooler up in the hills that overlook Cincinnati.

DLDP1

Daisy Lynn was in fine form as she rested in the cool damp grass…

DLDP2

We picked this photo spot for a certain reason…

DLDP4

Grandma found a patch of wild Daisies!

DLDP5

And another money shot is born!

More Wild Daisies Later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB remembering Devou Park fondly…)

Holding hands with the late Mayor, Chaps Wayne Rudert…

May 17th, 2014 - 11:11 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Holding Hands Lovers…Ahhhhhhhhhh….the memories!

For me, there is not a better way to spend a Saturday night than holding hands with a hound.

I cherish this picture.

holdinghands

The power of the paw!

Maybe next Saturday night I will get a picture of Mayor Daisy Lynn and I holding hands;)

More making a mental note later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB holding hands with Grandpa)…

Cartoon find of the day!

May 15th, 2014 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Cartoon find of the day lovers…I just love finding stuff like this and sharing it with the residents…

Anytime we can smile is a good thing;)

More loving smiling later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB smiling down on us everyday, as well as all of the bridge hounds…)

A nice crop of spring freckles are coming in on the Mayor!

May 13th, 2014 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and freckle crop lovers…Interestingly, today Grandma and I noticed a rather large and impressive crop of spring freckles.

DLSCF1

This picture is not that great but you can see all of the ticking coming in.  I know in Emma’s case the freckles came in more in the spring and summer.

I actually did a blog posting about it.  Click here to see Emma’s impressive summer crop!

Make sure to click each picture on that link;)

This is a close up of Daisy’s crop…

DLSCF2

This will document the crop so I can report back to the residents come summer.

Do any of you notice a freckle change with the season?

More loving the ever changing hound later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB now sporting rainbow freckles…)

It was a Jolly Time on Mom’s day!

May 12th, 2014 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Jolly Time Lovers…The 3 girls spent the day at Jolly Park in Campbell County KY…We have been to this park before.  It is very close to Dr. Leick, our holistic vet.  It is very pretty and encompasses about 1000 acres.  The views are majestic just like this one of an old Daisy (12yrs) meeting the young Daisy Rudert!

DLJP1

The park is very beautiful and has so much to offer but we find the walking is not that good.  I think folks go for the camping, scenery and the fishing.

DLJP2

So we did enjoy the scenery…

DLJP3

There is some really good camping and horse trails as well.  The golf course is one of the best in the area I am told.

DLJP4

The 3 of us really, really enjoy exploring parks and look forward to many more this spring, summer and fall.

Daisy Lynn seems to be doing a bit better in the car, not as much crying.  She does not do this anymore…

DLteeth

She used to push her mouth up against the netting and wine and cry for most of our travels.  Is that not the most pathetic thing you have ever seen?  She adores her walks when we get to where we are going.

Good thing she is finally getting the hang of it.

More Jolly good times later…Love, Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB layin’ and lazin’ by the rainbow fishing hole…)
