Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Memorial Day Lovers…Grandma, Daisy Lynn and I decided to have a picnic at our favorite spot and spend some time in quite reflection.  It was the perfect day to do so.

We adore this park, (Devou in Covington, KY).  We also have a favorite picnic table and it was available as you can see.  I made Turkey Rubens and potato salad.

After our long, leisurely lunch we sauntered down to the wars memorial.  Many folks strolled past and smiled at Daisy Lynn…

At the base of the memorial all of the wars are remembered with granite stones.  Very touching.

The American Flag flew high and proud!

We made it back to our table area and sat for awhile under the huge shade tree.  Grandma read a question on Twitter, “do you know how many are buried at Arlington?”  I had no idea…

Over 300,000…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Lovely Spring Sunday Lovers…This weekend has been absolutely picture perfect.  Grandma, Daisy Lynn and I planted our flowers.  Is it just me, or are flowers getting more vibrant?

I took this picture and did absolutely nothing to it.  Wow…

We spend about 5 hours getting our pots planted in the back and we still have more to do in the front!!!

Daisy Lynn was a big help!  She had so much fun outside with us.  It was really cute!

Then it was time for us to get her down for her afternoon nap.

I hung up her screen door, turned her fan on and set the radio to soft spa music.  She was out for a few hours.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Voting Lovers…Today Mayor Daisy Lynn Rudert ran unopposed in her primary election for Mayor of Bassethoundtown.

Here she is speaking to her constituents before casting her vote for herself…

“Dear Fellow Town Hounds.  I assumed the position of Mayor after the passing of the late Mayor Chaps Wayne Rudert.  Being a very young Mayor I have had so much to learn.  One thing I  have learned is that I love my family, my residents, and my job…”

“So, I made haste down to my precinct and cast my vote for myself’.  I promise to get better at the business of our town.  I feel it is time for a woman to take over and I will do my best to keep up the great work of Mayor Chaps.”

“I will detail (and climb on) my platform as we draw nearer to the November elections…”

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Wild Daisy Lovers…We went to Devou Park today!  A park that we adore and visit often in Covington, KY.  We tend to go to this park in the heat of the summer because for some reason it always seems cooler up in the hills that overlook Cincinnati.

Daisy Lynn was in fine form as she rested in the cool damp grass…

We picked this photo spot for a certain reason…

Grandma found a patch of wild Daisies!

For me, there is not a better way to spend a Saturday night than holding hands with a hound.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and freckle crop lovers…Interestingly, today Grandma and I noticed a rather large and impressive crop of spring freckles.

This picture is not that great but you can see all of the ticking coming in.  I know in Emma’s case the freckles came in more in the spring and summer.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Jolly Time Lovers…The 3 girls spent the day at Jolly Park in Campbell County KY…We have been to this park before.  It is very close to Dr. Leick, our holistic vet.  It is very pretty and encompasses about 1000 acres.  The views are majestic just like this one of an old Daisy (12yrs) meeting the young Daisy Rudert!

The park is very beautiful and has so much to offer but we find the walking is not that good.  I think folks go for the camping, scenery and the fishing.

So we did enjoy the scenery…

There is some really good camping and horse trails as well.  The golf course is one of the best in the area I am told.

The 3 of us really, really enjoy exploring parks and look forward to many more this spring, summer and fall.

Daisy Lynn seems to be doing a bit better in the car, not as much crying.  She does not do this anymore…

She used to push her mouth up against the netting and wine and cry for most of our travels.  Is that not the most pathetic thing you have ever seen?  She adores her walks when we get to where we are going.

Good thing she is finally getting the hang of it.
