Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and soon to be Sam lovers…

Bassethoundtown residents Marsie her hubby and Nosey have given shelter and love to a homeless boy hound who they named Sam!  Sam was rescued by an all breed rescue in the Cincinnati area called Louie’s Legacy.  It is so wonderful to have Louie’s Legacy near bassethoundtown.  They adore bassets and take many, if not all of the homeless bassets in this area.  I have blogged about them before.  Really, I can’t say enough good stuff about them.  They rescued Sam last week.

An eight year old gentle hound! Poor guy was just at his wits end.

But enter Marsie, her hubby and Nosey!  YES!

Don’t you  just love her cupcake hat?

Can you imagine Sam’s good luck?  Falling into the loving arms of this family?

Himz so skinny and can’t get his neuter until Marsie hides his ribs…

I think that will happen soon enough…

Right now Sam is a foster boy but who knows what will happen.  He looks at home to me!

Welcome to bassethoundtown darling Sam.  You have a beautiful sister and family.  You fell into the lap of love!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Official Portrait Lovers…One of the many important  mayoral duties that confront our town’s top official is choosing an official portrait to hang at town hall.

The Mayor Daisy Lynn requested that school children be tasked with this serious and substantial duty.

In the end Mayor Daisy Lynn went with all four of these.  As she pointed out, there is plenty of room in the town hall kitchen area.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and one year ago tonight lovers…

Here is what Grandma and I were doing…

January the 16th will forever go down in history as night to remember!

First, I want to thank all the residents for sending us so many well wishes as Grandma and I embarked on a new journey all the while still grieving the passing of Emma and Chaps.  It is so wonderful to have such caring and sweet residents wishing us well with positive thoughts and vibes.

After much mashing of teeth, a missed flight, tears, and finally a midnight pickup we collected our new little Mayor.  Daisy Lynn Rudert!

2013 flew by like a bright flash of light.

Daisy Lynn helped all of us move forward in her sweet and charming way.

Bassethoundtown is a cherished community with bassetabulous friends…

And many stories still to be told.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Sleeping with a Wagging Tail Lovers…I just love it when Daisy Lynn wags her tail in her sleep.  It is so cute.  I also love the sleep howl.  Very interesting.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Famous Basset Lovers! I have always adored these painting depicting the 4 seasons by Norman Rockwell.

It got me wondering if Norman had a basset hound.

So I googled it.

Yep, I figured he did.

I love these paintings and I can assure you that bassets can run that fast.  You should have seen Daisy Lynn today.  She looked exactly like this!

I know one thing…I am sure looking forward to the image of Spring!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and helping to send a hound over the bridge lovers…

Tonight a darling and dear resident has left us.  Lily Tingle…

Lily was and will always be a long time bassethoundtown resident.  Lily darling Lily, she had a heart on her side and in her soul.  Such a darling girl.  Lily Tingle is survived by her Mommy, Monnie, pictured here at the most recent bassethoundtown walking club event.

I have lit a candle in bassethoundtown for our Lily…

We all wish Lily Tingle Dog Speed over the rainbow bridge…

The hound angels will greet you Lily!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Howlin’ Lovers…I know that most hounds and dogs in general don’t like the vacuum cleaner, heck, I don’t like the darn thing either.

Daisy Lynn went nuts today!  I don’t recall her ever doing this in the past???

I am sure I have vacuumed in the past year a few times;)

She went crazy and started howling and howling.  Our Mayor is not a howler for the most part.

I hate to think she only howls when she is upset…

It was a sweet and long howl!! Over and over…

I put her behind the gate and make quick order of the task.

Do your hounds howl at the vacuum cleaner?

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and staying under blankets lovers.

Wow, the weather people said this type of weather has not happened in 3 decades.  I certainly never remember it being this shockingly cold.  I only let Daisy Lynn out for about a minute and a half and I stand by the door.  I have the back dog door open but the gate is up so she can’t go down.  I think I will close the dog door tonight just so she does not go out without me knowing it.

I saw this on facebook and had to share.  I don’t know who they are but boy o boy what a nice looking cold weather couple.

It is way too cold to go out even in these wonderful get ups but I would love to have this for Daisy Lynn.  Grandma and I were talking about booties today.  (The kind you wear on your paws!)  hehehe

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Finding Your Light Lovers…If I learned one thing from mindlessly watching Americas Next Top Model with Tyra Banks it is…“You must find your light”.  LOL…wonder if that show is still on?

Tyra said that the best models know the best angles and howl the light hits them….
