Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and excursion lovers…

Today we set out for a fun time on another basset hound town excursion.

It was so overwhelming. It kind of made us feel like we were with pop stars. I made the bad decision to go to some popular areas. The kids were swarmed from the time I parked until we decided to get them back in the car. It was one of the best days we have had, weather wise, in ages so everyone and their brother was out.

It was crazy! Totally crazy! Most of the folks that swarmed us had never seen a basset hound????? That really was CRAZY!

Don’t get me wrong, I love meeting and greeting but today was just like crowd control.

People riding bikes and jogging were even stopping. I had nuns telling me long stories of hounds in their past. Which I loved but when they were done the next group stepped up!

He is a pretty boy!

It was crazy. We could not make it 2 feet without folks rushing towards us.

We actually had to turn around and get back in the car.

Butt I think the real draw was our blind Emma! Everyone wanted to hear her story!

After about 2 hours and making it 2 feet we decided to high tail it out of there!

One thing is for sure. People take a lot of time out of their day to meet a couple of good looking hounds. Emma is the bonus. I give a few talks about seeing with your heart.

I think a fair amount of folks went on their way today thinking about howl happy Emma is.

This is a vid I found of the waddle that was held last weekend in Dwight, IL by Guardian Angel Basset Hound Rescue. Nice looking bunch of hounds!

Looks like a good time was had by all!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and the red shoes addition lovers….

Well, Chaps is not one of those. The 3 or 4 worst words our Mayor can hear are,
“Momma be right back:(”

These are the words I say when I am leaving without himz. He hates those words. He also hates the dreaded RED SHOES!

These are my pretty red summer slipper shoes that obviously are not made for walking hounds! Every time I put them on the Mayor goes into a funk!

Oh Mayor, Momma be back! The pretty red summer slipper shoes can belly rub!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hounds and all of us needing music on our up coming trip lovers. I cannot tell you howl many songs I have bought off of ITunes. I just love it beyond belief. I started a new category of songs that I buy. Maybe you might like them as well. I don’t have an IPod. I buy the songs and then burn them on CDs for my BHV! Otherwise I just listen to them on my lap top. Here is one I bought last night.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and not minding that I am bragging on Emma lovers! Well, I guess you are probably used to it! LOL!

This morning I had to get up early for some appointments with Grandma. So, I was rushing around but not too much. The normal routine was done and I was back in my office making some phone calls.

Emma started doing her “come help me Mommy bark”. It’s a bark that we recognize and we rush to see what she wants. Well, this morning she was barking at the refrigerator. Now that was odd. She never does that. She knows our routine. Heck, she made up the routine.

So, I placated her and gave her another small piece of rye bread.

I remained baffled.

Get this…Turns out I forgot to give her an allergy pill that I bury in a lump of mashed potatoes. She was telling me that I forgot her potato pill! Can you believe it? I was telling Grandma about the odd turn of events and she said,

“did you give her an allergy pill this morning?” DUH!

I had just started this pill a few days ago after my vet looked her over during her teeth cleaning.

Can you believe it! I can! Emma is smarter than Mommy!

PS – Our appointment was for our mammograms! Don’t forget to get one gals, and if you are a man reading this, make sure the females in your life don’t forget!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Nap Time Lovers…..

After the Kids, Grandma and I take long walks the Kids tend to collapse into their bed for a long nap. This past Sunday, I just could not help joining themz.

I was also feeling a bit sorry for myself because of the whole twisted ankle ordeal. Grandma was waiting on us hand and paw, or I should say she was waiting on me! The ankle is back to 100% but it sure was nice to have my Mommy. She tucked us in for a long, late summer time nap!

I soaked it for all it was worth! hehehe

More glad I heal quick later and I am sure Grandma is glad too! Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and kissing hound face lovers. OMD! I would love to know howl many kisses this face has received. I know for a fact it has been kissed about 20 times in the past several hours. Himz gets extra kisses when I wash his face.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and long nail haters! I just cannot keep up with the basset hound nails/claws that grow like weeds and are as thick as granite. I try, try, try to keep them clipped and drag the hounds in for maintenance. I am not physically strong enough to clip marble.

I had to laugh because Chaps totally snuck up on me today. He had his nails clipped way back during his teeth cleaning. So did Emmers. They are like Ghost hounds!

I was in the kitchen and turned around and was a bit, WHAT? Did you sneak up on Mommy? Of course he got a french fry! hehehe

I love a silent nail hound! I swear I am going to go in more often for the dreaded clipping.
